This is the heartbreaking moment that a dog had to dig himself out of a grave after he was buried alive by his owners. Fortunately, the poor animal was eventually rescued by a dog lover when she spotted him along the road.
Kiryusha, a 7-year-old German Shepherd, got out of the ground and made his way to the side of the road. While in there, he was seen by motorist 39-year-old Olga Lystseva.
Kiryusha the German Shepherd showed he’s truly determined to stay alive.
In a report by Mirror, we learn that Olga “eventually turned her car around and drove back nine miles to rescue the dog, lying wet and exhausted.” She got some food for him and placed him on her car’s backseat.
Kiryusha fell asleep during the 93-mile ride as Olga took him to Kind City, a dog rescue center in the town of Ukhta in Russia.
The service posted photos of Kiryusha online and found out that he was from the Yemva settlement and his past owners decided to put him down because he was “unhealthy.” The couple even confessed that they drugged the animal and tried taking his life. They later buried him in the ground near the highway of Ukhta-Syktyvkar.
Olga Lystseva, 39, is a certified dog lover.
Thanks to Olga, Kiryusha was brought to safety and a veterinarian declared he had no serious medical concerns despite of what happened.
Kind City’s Ekaterina Nimak later praised both the rescuer’s effort and the dog’s progress.
“Thanks to Olga, Kiryusha has begun a new life. In the shelter, he is very calm. He walks on a leash, does not rush anywhere, rarely conflicts with other dogs and does not bark. He is good-natured with people.”
According to the latest report by the media, the dog has already found his forever home after a local family decided to adopt him.
