Neon has announced its third acquisition this week, taking US rights to Brandon Cronenberg’s sci-fi thriller Possessor starring Andrea Riseborough.

The film premiered at Sundance and centres on a corporate agent (Riseborough) who uses brain-implant technology to inhabit other people’s bodies and get them to commit assassinations for high-paying clients.

Christopher Abbott, Tuppence Middleton, Sean Bean and Jennifer Jason Leigh round out the key cast. Possessor marks Cronenberg’s follow-up to his first feature, Antiviral

Arclight Films handles international sales on the Canadian/UK co-production produced by Niv Fichman, Kevin Krikst, and Fraser Ash for Rhombus Media, and Andy Starke for Rook Films.
