Joe Biden’s apparent election victory over President Donald Trump on Saturday has catapulted years-old songs back into heavy digital rotation, including YG’s anti-Trump rap medley FDT and Miley Cyrus’s Obama-era hit Party in the U.S.A.
FDT, the acronym which stands for ‘f*** Donald Trump’ and which is performed by YG, was briefly the most played song on iTunes on Sunday.
YG, the Compton, California native, released the track with the late Nipsey Hussle on his 2016 album Still Brazy, which coincided with the stretch run of Trump’s campaign.
After Biden was declared the projected winner by major news organizations on Saturday, digital sales of FDT jumped by 740 per cent compared to Friday, according to Billboard.
